Hi! My name is Prestin Bailey. I am an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach from Clayton, NC. My dream has always been to help people better their health and improve their quality of life.
I struggled with obesity, joint pain and mental health issues through my teenage years and early twenties. This began my passion with creating a healthier me using holistic practices like diet and exercise. However, poor information from internet sources really did me in and I found it difficult to separate fact from fiction due to so much conflicting information.
I struggled a lot with understanding proper nutrition and followed many fad diets. I used many supplement brands that proved to be less than effective. I also overdid it at the gym, eventually causing myself more harm than good.
I cycled through many cookie-cutter training and nutrition programs that gave me results but didn’t teach me how to make them stick. I fell off the health wagon several times and beat myself up each time for failing, but I didn’t give up! I decided to learn all I could about health and wellness from people who had the proper training. I eventually found better trainers that taught me how to eat and work out with science-backed information. These people were my inspiration to help others achieve better health!
My love of food inspired me to attend culinary school. There, I became fascinated with the health benefits of various whole foods, and how to make healthy eating delicious! My culinary nutrition class was partially to blame for my falling in love with healthy food preparation (thanks, Chef House!). I learned so much about where our food comes from and how a diet filled with processed foods can adversely affect one’s health, mood, and quality of life. After graduating with my A.A. in Culinary Arts, I decided that spreading the news of good health was my calling. Combining my love for healthy eating and exercise was a no brainer!
Most people think that personal trainers only exist to teach people to exercise and kick their butts! On the contrary, CPTs are able to offer healthy eating advice, correct muscle imbalances that affect posture and can cause injury, and offer a safe, non-judgmental space. There, we focus on science-based health practices that prevent disease and improve overall quality and longevity of life.
My mission is to offer science-based information and practices to all my clients to enlighten them about healthy eating, healthy food preparation, proper exercise techniques, and postural restoration on an individual basis. If you’re reading this, and you’re ready to begin your own personal wellness journey, I look forward to meeting you! I’m excited to play my part in guiding you to a happier, healthier you.
